She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hunsel of Troy and Linda Tochtrop of Josephville; four sons, William and Robert, both of Carrollton, Ill., and Donald and Richard, both of O'Fallon; one brother, James Orf of O'Fallon; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in afterlife by her husband, Ivan Phillips; one son, Gerald; her parents; and two brothers, William and Robert Orf.
A burying Mass was Feb. 12 at Assumption Catholic Abbey in O'Fallon with burying in the abbey cemetery.

Elsie A. Hamann, 96, of New Florence and aforetime of St. Charles County died Feb. 9, 2007, at New Florence Nursing and Care Center. She was built-in Feb. 28, 1910, in Leipzig, Germany.
Mrs. Hamann was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Herbert of Wentzville; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in afterlife by her husband, Werner Hamann; one daughter, Christine; and her parents.
No casework were scheduled. Her anatomy was cremated.
Arrangements were by Baue Burying and Canonizing Center in St. Charles.
Charles W. Meers
Charles W. Meers, 71, of St. Charles died Feb. 10, 2007, at SSM St. Joseph Health Center. He was built-in Feb. 24, 1935, to William J. and Ada Meers in St. Charles.
Mr. Meers was a accomplishment adumbrative and architect who formed for Missouri Research in St. Charles for 17 years. He served in the Army from February 1958 to January 1960. He was a affiliate of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 312 and the St. Charles County Raccoon Hunters Club.
He is survived by his wife, Joleen Meers of St. Charles; two sons, Mark L. and Matt C., both of St. Charles; one brother, Paul of St. Charles; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in afterlife by his parents; one brother, Willis; and one sister, Loraine Perotti.
Services were Feb. 13 at Immanuel Lutheran Abbey in St. Charles with burying in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in St. Charles.

Herman C. Huitt, 84, of St. Charles died Feb. 10, 2007, at SSM De Paul Health Center in Bridgeton. He was built-in Oct. 9, 1922, to John G. and Carrie J. (Bonney) Huitt in Lesterville.
Mr. Huitt was a assembly ascendancy receiver who formed for the Ford Motor Co. in Hazelwood for 32 years. He served in the Army during World War II and was a affiliate of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and Alton Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma M. Huitt of St. Charles; two stepdaughters, Susan and Tina Huss, both of St. Charles; one brother, Earl of Patterson; one sister, Dorothy Arnold of St. Charles; and one grandson.
He was preceded in afterlife by his aboriginal wife, Dorothy Huitt; his parents; and two sisters, Ella M. Pingleton and Elsie E. Mutrex.
